What happens at the start of therapy

Starting therapy is a huge step and can feel challenging. It can feel of lots of unknowns which can create stress and worry. That is why I am going to take you through what starting therapy looks like.

Once you have reached out through e-mail or contact form. I will respond within a week to discuss a time for a free introduction call. This should take 15-20 minutes and will give us time to discuss what you are looking for support with, allow me to take some details, time for your questions and ultimately see if we are a good fit for each other.

If we decide to work together, I will contact you with my available slots and send out a contract which covers how we will work together throughout the process. I will also send out information about where I work from in order to make your first visit as simple as possible.

In our first session we will go into an overall background about the issue(s) you are wishing to explore and history of yourself. This will be done at a pace which feels comfortable for you. Our initial goal is to form a working relationship in which to continue over future weeks. I may also do a quick questionnaire to help understand how certain things may be effecting you at the moment.

From there we will continue to explore issues in more depth and detail over future weeks. And occasionally throughout having reviews to see how our process is going and to give you opportunity to feedback what is working and if you would like to do anything different.

I hope this gives you an idea of what starting therapy looks like and whilst an initial challenge, it soon becomes apart of a weekly routine that can be beneficial to you.
